The Gold Coast glistens like a precious jewel almost every day of the year, its pristine coastline dazzles and delights people of all ages, while its mountainous rangers are home to spectacular scenery, boutique wines and adventure galore.

So, you have arrived at the Blue Heron Motel for a sunny 3-day break, you’ve unpacked your case, slapped on some sunscreen and are ready to unwind. But, where do you start. We’ve got just the plan for you.

Gold Coast Itinerary – Day 1:

Treat yourself to a five-star breakfast at Le Cafe Gourmand, Trip Advisor’s number 1 restaurant in Mermaid Beach, or experience the Paddock Bakery, established at an old Queenslander home in Burleigh Heads, where you can indulge yourself and watch how their delicious donuts are prepared in-house.

Then, hop into the G-Link Light Rail and head to Surfers Paradise through Cavil Mall and pick up a new Hawaiian shirt to set the mood and take a lift up 230 metres from the ground and have a coffee while taking in some spectacular views.

If you’re really feeling brave, why not book in to the Skypoint Climb and join the professionals on Australia’s highest external building climb. Once you’ve filled up on adrenaline, head on down to Cavill Avenue and jump on an Aquaduck Safari and take in some of the beautiful coastal scenery from the ground.

In the afternoon, treat yourself with a walk on the beach and after relaxing a little bit at the Blue Heron Motel, take a stroll to Miami Marketta for some live music and an international gastronomical experience.

Gold Coast Itinerary – Day 2:

Get in the car, and head for the hills! Within less than an hour you can be taking a stroll along the Gallery Walk of Mount Tamborine. There’s something for everyone including hand-crafted gifts, simply stunning opals, fresh and local produce and fashion galore. If you’re feeling peckish, why not try some local produce at the Gallery Café or The Fountain of Juice!

Mount Tamborine is also home to some spectacular rain forest and boasts walking tracks for all skill levels. To reward yourself after your trek, call in to Tamborine Mountain Distillery’s new premises on Macdonnell road. The staff are ready to tantalize your taste buds with some award-winning gin and vodka, a perfect gift for friends and family! Just remember your limit if you are designated driver!

For dinner, why not book a table at one of the local’s favourite, Goccia Italian Pizzeria, a traditional Italian restaurant just 5 minutes walk from the Blue Heron.

Gold Coast Itinerary – Day 3:

Get up early and get on over to Sea World! But instead of entering the park, why not jump on board a whale watching tour! Your cruise captain will take you out through the spit, to the open water where you will have the chance to get up close and personal with these majestic creatures of the deep. An experience not to be missed!

Got a bit more time up your sleeve? Why not pop in to sea world and take a dip with a dolphin or experience the thrills and spills of some of Australia’s most invigorating roller coasters.

Make sure you finish off the day at Charis Seafood where you can order some fresh fish and chips, and sit out on the bank of the Labrador waterway and watch the pelicans roll in for the night. A truly blissful way to end a truly blissful day!

Whatever you decide to do on the Gold Coast, make it a truly special trip and stay with us at the Blue Heron Motel in the heart of Mermaid Beach. Central to everything, far enough to relax!
